Vascular plants make up the large majority of specimens in the Chrysler Herbarium. The earliest specimens were collected by Nathaniel Lord Britton as part of his job as the first 'state botanist' of New Jersey in the late 1880s. Digitized vascular plant specimens and observation data from Chrysler Herbarium are available online to the public through the Consortium of Northeastern Herbaria. We are currently working on databasing and imaging more of our specimens and the provision of a new web portal for all our specimens.
