Join us to share old and new specimens, incredible plants, fun stories, new ideas, classic research, and research on plants, algae, and fungi.
100-year Jubilee Symposium: Past, Present, and Future of Botany at Rutgers (Friday 24 October 2025, 8.30 AM – 4.45 PM)

The symposium will be held in the IFNH building on Cook Campus at Rutgers University.

Poster Presentation Information
As part of the jubilee symposium we invite you to present a poster related to botanical research at Rutgers. Poster topic must be related to botany, herbaria, or New Jersey flora. Posters from past projects and research are welcome, so reprint your favorite from previous work! We will provide poster boards; you bring your poster. Register your poster when you register for the symposium.
- Max one poster per registration.
- Add authors and poster title during your registration.
- Max number of poster available (first come, first serve): 20
- Maximum poster size: 48 inches wide by 36 inches long

$30 – Current Rutgers Student
$70 – All other Participants
Registration fee includes morning coffee and tea during poster presentations, catered sandwich lunch, and symposium attendance.
Donations to support our work in Chrysler Herbarium, including our internship program the Herbarium Army, are much appreciated and go to support research, education, and outreach by the herbarium. Open House at Chrysler Herbarium (24 October 2025, 5:15-6:15 PM)
Information about Chrysler Herbarium’s Open House will be sent out separately through the Chrysler Herbarium mailing list. If only attending the open house, registration for the symposium is not necessary. For questions about the Open House on Oct 24 contact Megan King (megan.king@rutgers.edu).
Botanical Fieldtrip (25 October 2025, 10.00 AM – 2.00 PM)
We will arrange a short botanical fieldtrip to areas near New Brunswick, NJ and the Sourland Mountains on 25 October 2025. The fieldtrip is free and participants will arrange their own transportation and bring their own lunch. The fieldtrip with end with a social gathering (details after you have registered for the fieldtrip). Information about the fieldtrip will be sent out through the Chrysler Herbarium mailing list. If only attending the field trip, registration for the symposium is not necessary. For information and registration for the fieldtrip contact Lena Struwe (lena.struwe@rutgers.edu).

The mailing list is also used to share information about herbarium events, news and botanical research at Rutgers University. Parking Information: Please register for parking, parking is free to event attendees and allows parking in Rutgers lots 97 and 98B. Please let us know if you require handicap accessible parking. There will be separate event parking for the open house for those who would prefer to park closer to the herbarium.
